Do you think you can stop Facebook from immediately tag photos of you by covering your face? Think again.

The New Scientist informs that Facebook is evolve a new face identification algorithm so powerful it can identify people even when their faces are hidden or blocked. Instead, experimental algorithm gathers information on the basis of other similar features like hair style, body shape, and body language. You can even identify people based on what kind of clothes they normally use.

"There are a lot of signs that we use. People have characteristic features, even if you look at them from behind," Yann LeCun, head of the artificial intelligence in Facebook, told the magazine New Scientist. "For example, you can identify very easily because Mark Zuckerberg always wears a gray shirt."

A.I. Facebook research team examine its new face recognition algorithm using 40,000 public photos from Flickr. Some of the photos had clearly visible face of the people and some had faces of the people they turned away from the camera. The algorithm was able to identify people with 83 percent efficiency.

Facebook is trusting to incorporate this algorithm have recently launched their moments. Now automatically create photo collections with certain information such as where and when the photo was taken, label all Facebook friends recognizable on the road. If this algorithm ends up giving Moments another data set, soon Facebook may also be able to surface all the pictures taken with a friend, even where that friend photos wearing a Halloween mask.
